Health & Safety

The health and safety of the children at Over the Rainbow is very important to their experience here.

Caregivers/Teachers

  • Our staff is experienced and well trained in the health, safety and education of the children.
  • Our teachers are dedicated and sensitive to the needs of your child. All staff is CPR, First Aid and Medication Administration certified.  Some staff are working towards a degree in Early Childhood Education.
Educational Consultant

  • Our consultant has a BS and MS in Early Childhood Education and is available to staff and parents.

Nurse

  • Our school nurse visits our center weekly and is always available for consultation.
Security Cameras

  • Twelve indoor and outdoor cameras are located throughout the facility including classrooms, the playground and driveways.  Parents are welcome to watch their child on the monitor in the office.

Alarm/Keypad Entry

Parents and staff use a code to enter the Center at both entry ways. The facility alarm and sprinkler system is connected to the Hamden Fire Department. Carbon monoxide detectors are also on premises.
